Build your own professional poker table at home

It's fun to host card games at your home. It's even more fun when you have a good table to play at.

But pro-style poker tables aren't cheap, and not everyone wants to pay the sort of cash needed to buy one. For the cash-conscious (or those who enjoy creating stuff by hand), making your own poker table might be the way to go.

ShopGeek has a video detailing all the instructions, and it isn't very difficult. You can buy all the materials at your local hardware store: 2 5x5 sheets of birch plywood, one sheet of 4x4 MDF, 4 table legs, green speed cloth and 1/4" foam padding. You'll also need a circular saw, a jigsaw, a brad nailer and a drill. Chances are, if you're interested in taking on a project like this, you already have these tools available to you (or can borrow them from a friend).

The instructional video is roughly 20 minutes long, but it will guide you through the entire process. Build this bad boy and find yourself the center of attention for home poker games. You'll save a lot of money in the process, since the building materials for this table will roughly cost about $300.
