MissTravel.com's Best Live Events at the Best Locations Around the World

Miss Travel Poker

When it comes to the live poker scene, there seems to be enough action for everyone to get their tournament fix all throughout the year. Whether you’re going to play an entire schedule, or simply playing one event and enjoying the scenery, the live circuit is a great excuse to get out of the house and travel the world.

So, we, at MissTravel.com, have compiled a list of live events with the best tournaments and best locations.

Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure (PCA)

Outside of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure (PCA), which takes place in the beautiful Atlantis Hotel and Casino in the Bahamas, is one of the most anticipated destinations of the year. It's a popular series for online grinders — especially those who just finished chasing Super Nova Elite status — to get some rest and relaxation while socializing without using Skype.

When not playing in tournaments, partaking in prop bets, or losing at credit card roulette for the millionth time, the PCA has a lot to offer. Waterslides, beaches, sharks, alcohol, jetskis, and lots of pools are just a small sample of the things to do to take your mind off poker.

EPT Barcelona

Even without an European Poker Tour event in Barcelona, the city would be an incredible location to visit for a nice little vacation. Having an EPT only makes the city that much more exciting.

Be sure to leave the casino when you can to check out all that the city has to offer — it’s an older city so there’s a ton of culture to immerse yourself in outside of the poker felt. At the very least you should check out the beach. It’s a great way to deal with the stress of bad beats or bubbling, as it is only a short walk from the casino doors.

Aussie Millions

Australia is an ideal location to take a break from either the online or 9-to-5 grind to sneak in some live poker. Aussie Millions is one of the most prestigious in the Southern Hemisphere, and notable pros make the yearly trip to Australia under to play for keeps.

Luckily, January is summertime in the land down under.

So, when you’re taking a break from the Crown Casino, check out all that the city of Melbourne has to offer. Just try not to get killed in the process; the poker table isn’t the only place in Australia with sharks.

If you can find the extra time to spend in Australia, hop a plane to Brisbane and catch a bus to Byron Bay for a couple of days. It’s a great little surf town on the Gold Coast with arguably the most beautiful beach you’ll ever set foot on.

World Series Of Poker (WSOP)

And lastly, the grand mecca of poker: the WSOP in Las Vegas. Each year, thousands of people flock to Sin City to take part in the six-week marathon of flops, turns, and rivers.

The Tour De Poker, if you will. Though, instead of a bunch of bicyclists vying for the number one spot on bicycles, it’s a bunch of poker players vying for the number one spot in tournament poker.

It’s Las Vegas though, so poker isn’t the only action in town. Whether it’s nightclubs, downtown with the hipsters, hikes at Red Rock, ziplining from casino rooftops, or making an impromptu trip to the Grand Canyon, there’s a plethora of things to free your mind from the tilt of the grind or to celebrate a deep run — if you’re one of the lucky ones.
