The Aston Martin Vulcan is an 800hp Track Monster

"Track day" cars are all the rage among the automotive elite these days.

What's a track day car? Put simply, it's a car that is absolutely and highly illegal to drive on regular roads, and so is confined to a track. There is a huge demand for these monstrous machines, so auto makers are responding by creating them.

The latest track day beast is the Aston Martin Vulcan. There is a good chance you'll never see one of these in person, because the famed luxury car maker is only making 24 of them. The price hasn't been revealed (and you likely won't be able to afford it unless you have Phil Ivey money), but it's safe to say you're looking at a car worth millions of dollars. And if you do, somehow, manage to afford this bad boy, you'll have to go through a special Aston Martin driving course before they ever allow you close to the keys. Think of it like beating the nose-bleeds regularly...

But once you complete the course, and you get strapped into this space-age Aston, well, you're going to go fast. This thing has a totally not street legal V12 engine mixed with a body made entirely of carbon fiber. That means the entire car is light and is essentially strapped to a rocket. It has a higher power-to-weight ratio than the Aston Martin GTE racer, which is the Aston Martin that races in the famed Le Mans.

This car clearly isn't for your normal, every day driver. But if you're looking for some ridiculous speed and you have plenty of disposable cash burning a hole in your pocket, well, you probably can't go wrong with the Vulcan. Just don't try driving it down the Las Vegas strip. That would be a very bad idea, and for numerous reasons. Until then, just watch the video below and feel all of the feelings.

What do you think?
