Thursday Boots Black Label Collection #1 Hits 10/29

Growing up in Texas, I saw a lot of boots, as you might imagine. But I wasn't really a fan of boots until I got my first pair of Thursday Boots last Christmas. And now I have three pair, and I can't get enough, and I wear them more than I wear tennis shoes or anything else. The only shoes in my arsenal that get more wear than my Thursday boots are my sandals, and that's only during the summer months when sandals are pretty much a requirement. Every other day of the week, my Thursday boots are on my feet, because after an initial breaking-in period, they've become the most comfortable shoes I own.

But, yeah. I have three pair of Thursday boots. They are fantastic. The third pair technically aren't technically in my hands yet, but I'm expecting them soon, and I can't wait: they're a pair of the new Black Label release, which is what I'm here to tell you about today.

Thursday Boots are affordable. My first pair cost $199, and the company throws in free shipping. If you know anything about boots or leather goods in general, you know this is a great price point. The new Black Label releases are more expensive; they start at $425 each. But what you're getting is an ultra-premium product, designed and released with special limited-edition sneakers or other fashion products in mind.

Thursday will only make 100 of each color in these three special releases. Once they're gone, they're gone forever. They use the finest leather and the best handcrafted products, and they're essentially as good as bootmaking gets. The first Black Label release is the Vanguard style in three colors: Color #8, Rio Latigo and Olive.

The Black Label collection goes on sale this Wednesday at all Thursday authorized dealers, but you can also buy them on Thursday's website. In the meantime, gawk at these photos of the new photos and prepare yourself to buy the best boots you'll ever wear.

Taking a page from the limited edition releases of luxury watch collections and sneakers, the Black Label Collection offers one-of-a-kind boots for the discerning enthusiast. The collection items are not simply functional footwear, but pieces of art. Black Label Boots are meticulously handcrafted with the best cuts of the rarest leather. Featuring old world construction methodology, the fabrication process is lengthy and unabashedly scrupulous. Each boot is individually hand-numbered and comes with a corresponding certificate of authenticity signed by Chief Executive Officer, Nolan Walsh. The Black Label collection has been created to push the art form. Once a Collection Item has been sold out, there will be no further opportunity to obtain that model from an authorized distributor. Under no circumstance will there ever be a re-release of a given model. Season I, Batch I launches at Thursday Boot Company retail locations in NYC and Washington DC, Stuf|f Fine Goods in Dussledorf, Germany and thursdayboots.com on 10.29.15. Only 100 boots will be made for each of the three colorways for our new model, The Vanguard.

This is the art of bootmaking at its apex.

The Vanguard is the superlative rendition of the classic American Service Boot of the 1940s. Handcrafted by expert artisans using a stitchout (“veldtschoen”) construction, Season I Batch I features the best cuts of some of the rarest leather ever created by the revered Horween tannery in Chicago. One hundred boots will be created in each of the three colorways: Color #8 Chromexcel, Rio Latigo, and Dark Olive Aniline Chromexcel.
